Registration Fees


All fees are in South African Rand.

Registration for SAICSIT 2016 closes on 23 September 2016. No additional registrations will be accepted for the pre-conference workshops, and on-site registration for the main conference will only be offered if there is availability on the day.

Registration fees include VAT.

The main conference fee includes, for all delegates:

  • two full days conferencing (Tuesday/Wednesday), with two tea breaks and lunch per day;
  • a conference dinner on the Tuesday night;
  • a networking event (social function) on the Monday night;
  • and a delegate pack including an electronic copy of the conference proceedings.

The conference fee does not include anything else, e.g. travel and accommodation.

The presenter fees are afforded exclusively to delegates presenting a paper at the conference. Only one delegate per accepted paper will be afforded this special rate, and must be the delegate presenting the paper. The presenting delegate of each accepted paper (one individual may present more than one paper) must register for the conference on/before 24 August or the paper will not be included in the conference programme or in the conference proceedings.

The student rate is afforded to full-time, registered higher-education students only. The student must supply proof of registration to the conference organising committee in order to qualify for this special rate.

The on-site registration fee is not guaranteed to be available, and will be afforded to last minute delegates if the conference venue can accommodate the increased load. Only cash will be accepted on site, and such delegates will not receive a conference delegate pack.

No discounts will be afforded to delegates who only attend certain sessions. Only delegates who have specifically indicated that they are attending the Networking Event and the Conference Dinner will be accommodated at those events.

Attendance at the networking event on the Monday night and the conference dinner on the Tuesday night is included for all main conference delegates. Attendance at the networking event on the Monday night is included for delegates of the M&D Symposium and all Workshops. Only delegates who have specifically indicated that they are attending the Networking Event and the Conference Dinner will be accommodated at those events.

Delegates who wish to invite guests or partners to either of those events have the opportunity to do so. Registration for either/both of the social functions does not include anything except attendance at those events.

M&D Symposium

Participation in the M&D symposium is open to invited panelists and students whose submissions to the symposium are accepted. No other delegates may register for this event.

The M&D symposium includes, for all students and panelists:

  • a full day symposium (Monday), including two tea breaks and lunch;
  • a networking event (social function) on the Monday night (combined with delegates from the main conference);
  • and a delegate pack.

Delegates to the M&D symposium will not receive a copy of the conference proceedings unless they are also registered for the main conference. Delegates registered for the symposium and the main conference will only receive one delegate pack. The symposium does not include anything else, e.g. travel and accommodation.

Registration for the symposium is required for students of accepted submissions but is free of charge. Registration must be completed by 24 August or the submission will not be included in the programme. No registration is required for panelists.

Student participants of the symposium may register for the main conference at the Student Presenter rate in the above table.
